Israel Paldi (1892-1979)
1892 - Born in Russia.
1909 – Immigrates to Palestine.
1911-1914 Studies art in Munich.
1940s-1970s - Creates theater sets and takes part in the
Sao Paulo and Venice Biennales.
Paldi’s naïve and humoristic style is extremely unique and
recognized. He creates fantastic and imaginary scenery of magical creatures
using rich and lively colors.

Mysterious World portrays a
fantastic and colorful vision of strange creatures and imaginary reptiles. All
are on a grassy and crowded ground along with magical flowers and glittering
stars. Paldi’s rich imagination did not limit itself to the animals but
encompassed every element in the work, be it the stars, the flowers or the
general background.
